PHILIP QUIRKE was born in 1950 and lives in Wexford. He is married to Margaret Galvin and they have one child Ibar. Philip was formerly an active Roman Catholic priest in the Diocese of Ferns and now works as a teacher at CBS secondary school in Wexford. He began to apply himself to writing in 2004 and works a job-share to have more time to notice things. And so to write.

Philip has been published in The Shop, Southward, Airings, Coffee House Poetry, Galway Now and In Dublin. His poem A Memory of Mother was featured in Poetry in Motion, Belfast, 2005 and published on Ulsterbus. He has also been published in local newspapers in Wexford.
